What's New with K9 Bytes?

K9 Koordinator Corporate uses MS SQL ServerThe new edition of K9 Koordinator is here! The K9 Koordinator Corporate is perfect for large facilities with 5 or more computers because the software is designed to support a large number of concurrent users and computers in network environments. Corporate is like the Network version but Corporate works on Microsoft's SQL Server technology rather than Microsoft Access. Access is a true relational database management system (RDBMS) as is SQL Server but they differ in their architectural structure. The SQL Server architecture is the main reason for which many larger businesses would benefit from using a Microsoft SQL Server database rather than Access. Access uses a file server design and SQL Server uses the Client/Server model. The main advantages of using our Corporate software is increased reliability as the number of concurrent users and workstations grows, as well as reduced network traffic, and increased speed performance. Reports

  1. The ‘Income Analysis’ report was replaced by the new ‘Total Charges Analysis’ report. The new report will includeed more accurate total charges for each month than its predecessor. Also, the numeric value for each month’s totals is included in the monthly charts.
  2. New ‘Out Grooming Calls’ combines outside grooming reservations, grooming services, and expired vaccinations into a single report.
  3. New ‘Separate Today’ option is available for med and diet ‘By Section’ reports.
  4. New option to print a single employee’s time sheet instead of time sheets for all employees.
  5. New option to print a single employee’s tips report instead of tips for all employees.
  6. New report that combines the groomer totals report and the tips report for groomers.
  7. New report that separates grooming totals by the type of groom, i.e. bath or hair-cut. This report will classify groups as the base name ignoring the modifiers, e.g. a ‘bath good shape’ is considered a bath.
  8. The ‘Attended’ daycare report was replaced with the ‘Preferred’ report that lists all pets in the system with a preferred group assigned. A new ‘Attended’ report was created to list all pets that have visited the daycare between two dates. The ‘Attended’ report also breaks-down statistics for common check in times, check out times, percentage of pets from multiple pet families, average visit length, and number of visits by the day of the week.
  9. New grooming ‘Mobile’ report for reservations scheduled for mobile groomers. This report is grouped by the mobile group.
  10. New shortcut that allows selection of last year and last month date ranges.

Financial

  1. The edit payments screen located at ‘Tools,’ ‘Records Editing,’ and ‘Edit Payments,’ has been optimized for easier use. Each payment transaction now displays the current payment type as well as the time the transaction took place.

Grooming

  1. 1. Added up and down arrows to the speed-up navigation in the grooming schedule screen. The arrows allow easily navigating back and forth in time, instead of having to change the starting time. The simple arrow will move +1/-1 hour and the double arrow will go to the next set of times; for example, if current schedule goes from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM on a 15 min interval, the simple arrow will move the schedule forward to the range of 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the double arrow to 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
  2. The duration of the last groom (or bath) for a pet will now load by default as the number of hours when using the grooming schedule screen.
  3. Using the grooming schedule screen to configure times for a pet’s appointment will now prompt the user if the same times are to be used for all other pets in that family.
